Drag Lip into Applications

Drag the icon across onto the Applications folder and let go. That's the install. Eject the disk image afterwards and you can delete the .dmg.

Running it straight from the disk image works, but permissions won't stick between restarts.

Allow two permissions

macOS asks for the microphone, so Lip can hear you, and accessibility, so it can type at your cursor. It walks you through both on first launch.

The mic only opens while you hold the key, and nothing recorded leaves your Mac.

✓MicrophoneAllowed
✓AccessibilityAllowed

Revoke either one any time in System Settings.

If macOS blocks the app, open it once from the right-click menu. If dictation types nothing, accessibility permission is the usual cause.
