Terms of Service

These terms set out what buying Lip actually gets you, including licence conditions, update policies, and warranty details.

Last updated 2026-10-05.

Licence

Buying Lip grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to run the app for one person across up to 3 devices. It's yours to use, not to share, resell, or install on someone else's behalf (see “Acceptable use” below for what that rules out).

Trial

Before you buy anything, Lip runs free for 7 days with full functionality: no licence key, no email address, and no signup.

When the trial ends, dictation stops working until you activate a licence. Settings stays reachable so you can buy one, and nothing you've dictated or configured is lost.

Purchase and upgrades

Lip is a one-time purchase: $39, paid once, not a subscription.

Every future version is included with no upgrade fee: every update within the version you bought is free forever, and a future major version is a separate purchase you're free to decline.

Refunds

You can request a refund within 30 days of purchase.

Acceptable use

Your licence covers your own use on your own devices. It doesn't extend to redistributing Lip, reselling licence keys, or attempting to circumvent the licensing or trial mechanism.

Do any of that and we may revoke the licence involved.

Warranty

Lip is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the extent the law where you live allows us to disclaim one.

We don't promise it's fit for a particular purpose, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you for anything arising from these terms or your use of Lip is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. When we do, we'll change the last-updated date at the top of this page, and that date is the one that governs.

Continuing to use Lip after an update means you accept the new terms.
